HUNTING A VERY BIG BOAR
Rassendyll goes to meet with Flavia in the next morning and presents her a bouquet. She shows him two letters one from Black Michael in which Flavia is invited to spend a few days at castle of Zenda and the other one from a stranger in which she is strictly forbidden to come at Zenda. Rassendyll recognizes the writing of De Mauban and warns Flavia to be careful from the danger of Black Michael. Rassendyll feels that all the things are going in his favour. So he thinks that he should try to handover the throne to real king. Keeping this point in his mind he goes to Marshall and says to him,
“Marshall, I am leaving Strelsau for a few days. Every evening I will send a courtier to you, if for three days none comes you will publish an order, which I will give you, depriving Duke Michael of the government-ship of Strelsau and appointing you in this place. You will declare a state of siege (blockade). Then you will send a word to Michael that you demand an audience of the king in twenty four hour, if he does not produce the king then the king is dead, and you will proclaim the next heir, the Princess Flavia.”
Rassendyll tells her that he is going for hunting and if he does not come she will rule the country and says to console Flavia,
“Shall a man not come back to the loveliest lady in all the wide world? A thousand Michaels should not keep me from you.”
Then Rassendyll leaves for Zenda insisting Marshall to protect Flavia.
